Following the recent breakthrough discovery of the benefits of Manuka honey in eczema treatment and other skin diseases, many of my patients have come up with their queries and wanted to know in detail about how and why this product is useful. Here is my response to them...
Most of the various types of honey have glucose oxidase enzyme; but Manuka honey contains a second antibacterial property along with this glucose oxidase enzyme. Both these anti-bacterial properties have a combined effect on the skin affected by eczema, which is mostly a bacterial disease. As per medical discoveries, there is no bacterium which can endure the healing powers of Manuka honey. Manuka honey is more effective than antibiotics and other conventional medicines.
You can find the use of Manuka honey in most of the skin care and eczema treatment products. You can use it in cold cream as Manuka honey is excellent in treating dry and scaly skin conditions. And therefore they are excellent in treating eczema affected parts of the skin.
